Peterman/Gallant grab spot in Banff Final
Chestermere's Jocelyn Peterman Brett Gallant (photo: Curling Canada) will advance to the final with a victory over Kelowna's Jennifer Armstrong and Tyrel Griffith 6-2 at the Rocky Mountain Curling Classic.

Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant (Chestermere) hope to return to the Olympics, this time as teammates. Both attended the 2022 Olympics with their respective four-person teams
Peterman/ Gallant grabbed their spots in the Olympic trials last season, finishing third in the Canadian Mixed Doubles National in Fredericton, NB. Due to their busy four-person team schedules, they have not played any other doubles events so far this season.
The two-time Canadian Mixed Doubles national champions, winning in 2016 and 2019, will certainly be among the favourites heading to Liverpool, Nova Scotia.
They took on Kelowna's Jennifer Armstrong and Tyrel Griffith in Sunday's Semi-Final, starting with the hammer because they qualified on the B-side.
Peterman/Gallant started by getting a single, then stole one in the second and third ends. In the fourth end, Armstrong/Griffith found the scoreboard, adding a single and stealing one in the fifth.
Peterman/Gallant added one more in the sixth, then stole in the seventh and eighth ends to take a 6-2 win.
Peterman/Gallant finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. In their opening game, Peterman/Gallant defeated Gabby Brissette/Ryan Parent (Calgary) 9-3, then won 7-3 against Amanda Sluchinski/Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie). Peterman/Gallant lost 8-7 against Courtney Woo/Daniel Wenzek (New Westminster). Peterman/Gallant responded with an 8-2 win over Rachel Homan/Brendan Bottcher(Edmonton). Peterman/Gallant won 8-2 against Marlee Powers/Luke Saunders (Halifax), then 7-4 against Jennifer Jones/Brent Laing (Barrie) in their final qualifying round match. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Homan/Bottcher 9-7.
Kadriana Lott/ Colton Lott (Winnipeg Beach) defeated Jones/Laing 6-3 in the other semi-final.
The final will be played at 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time (MT) and can be watched on the Rocky Mountain Curling Association's YouTube page.
