All for a Spot in Saturday's Final

Chestermere's Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant (photo: Curling Canada/Michael Burns) face off against Ottawa's Lisa Weagle, and Toronto's John Epping is set to face off against each other in Friday evening's 1v2 page playoff action.

Jocelyn Peterman/Brett Gallant (Chestermere) is set to face Lisa Weagle/John Epping (Ottawa/Toronto) for a spot in Saturday's final at the 2025 Mixed Doubles Curling Trials with a chance to represent Canada at the 2025 World Mixed Doubles Championships.

The winner of the trials will have a chance to qualify Canada for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics. If they succeed, they will also be part of Canada's team.

Peterman/Gallant finished 7-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. In their opening game, Peterman/Gallant defeated Riley Sandham/Brendan Craig (Guelph) 8-6, then won 8-7 against Taylor Reese-Hansen/Corey Chester (Kitimat/Victoria) and 7-6 against Melissa Adams/Alex Robichaud (Fredericton). Peterman/Gallant won 6-3 against Weagle/Epping, then 8-1 against Jaelyn Cotter/Jim Cotter (Vernon) and 5-2 against Jennifer Armstrong/Tyrel Griffith (Rothesay/Kelowna). In their final qualifying round match, Peterman/Gallant won 9-6 against Kadriana Lott/Colton Lott (Gimli).

In the 1v2 page qualifier game, Peterman and Gallant defeated Edmonton's Rachel Homan and Brendan Bottcher 8-4.

Weagle/Epping finished 5-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. In their opening game, Weagle/Epping defeated Taylor Reese-Hansen/Corey Chester (Kitimat/Victoria) 9-6, then won 9-4 against Riley Sandham/Brendan Craig (Guelph) and 10-8 against Jaelyn Cotter/Jim Cotter (Vernon). Weagle/Epping lost 6-3 against Peterman/Gallant. Weagle/Epping responded with a 9-5 win over Melissa Adams/Alex Robichaud (Fredericton). Weagle/Epping lost 8-6 against Kadriana Lott/Colton Lott (Gimli). Weagle/Epping responded with a 9-5 win over Jennifer Armstrong/Tyrel Griffith (Rothesay/Kelowna) in their final qualifying round match.

In the Weagle/Epping 1v2 page qualifier game, they defeated Calgary's Brittany Tran and Saskatoon's Rylan Kleiter 10-5.

These two teams played off against each other once already in the round-robin. Peterman/Gallant took the win on that one 6-3.

With their 7-0 record, Peterman/Gallant will start with the hammer. The game will be at 7:00 pm Atlantic Time (AT). The loser of the match will face off against the winner of the Homan/Bottcher versus Tran/Kleiter 3-4 page playoff game.
