Peterman/Gallant Will Represent Canada
Alberta's Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant won gold versus Alberta's Rachel Homan/Brendan Bottcher at the 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials in Liverpool, Nova Scotia.

Get used to seeing Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant wearing the red and white as they will be Canada's team at the 2025 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships in Fredericton, New Brunswick, with the chance to be Olympians again.
They started with the hammer in the final due to their better round-robin record. In the first end, Peterman/Gallant found the scoreboard quickly, capitalizing on a Homan/Bottcher miss, playing a lightweight tap for three points. An opportunity for two, Homan was playing lightweight takeout, ending up wrecking on guard, resulting in a steal of one for Peterman/Gallant.
A thin double on Peterman's last, Homan/Bottcher was forced to draw to the four foot for their single point. Needing a measure for the third shot, Peterman/Gallant slid too far, resulting in a deuce, taking a 6-1 lead into the fifth end.
Using their powerplay, Peterman/Gallant made a cross-house double to prevent the three points, resulting in a deuce for Homan/Bottcher. It was Peterman/Gallant's turn to use their powerplay, rolling a bit too far on their light wait takeout; they had to settle for their deuce, taking an 8-3 lead going into the seventh.
Having an opportunity to score four points trying to push the Peterman/Gallant through the hole, Homan/Bottcher jammed it, only getting their deuce. Ultimately, Peterman removed a Homan/Bottcher stone on their last to take an 8-7 victory be the 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials Champions, curling a team of 81%.
They can return to the Olympics for the first time as teammates, having gone to Beijing 2022 with their respective four-person teams.
Peterman and Gallant will be in Fredericton, New Brunswick, in April. They were in Fredericton for the 2024 Canadian Mixed Doubles National, where they finished third. The last time they were teammates in the red and white was at the 2022 World Championships, where they lost in the qualification game.

Peterman/Gallant won 6-3 against Lisa Weagle/John Epping (Ottawa/Toronto), then won 8-1 against Jaelyn Cotter/Jim Cotter (Vernon) and 5-2 against Jennifer Armstrong/Tyrel Griffith (Rothesay/Kelowna). In their final qualifying round match, Peterman/Gallant won 9-6 against Kadriana Lott/Colton Lott (Gimli).
