Jacobs Gets it Done in the Semi-Finals

Brad Jacobs, with Marc Kennedy at third, Brett Gallant, and Ben Hebert on the front end, did what some people thought was impossible: taking down the back-to-back-to-back Grand Slam champions in Scotland's Bruce Mouat.
Jacobs started with the hammer due to their unbeaten round-robin record.
Jacobs made a lightweight angle takeout by opening the scoring with a deuce in the first end. Mouat followed it up with a deuce of his own, making a lightweight around a guard hit and stick.
Once again, Jacobs found another deuce, making a back eight tap to avoid the jam. The fourth end was dominated by Jacobs, forcing Mouat to draw to the four foot for his single point. A rock that nobody knew if it was biting or not, Jacobs elected for the blank, which ended up being out, and Jacobs maintained the hammer going into the sixth end.
A missed draw on Mouat's last allowed Jacobs to draw to the four-foot to pick up his second point. In the end, looking like a Jacobs steal, Mouat pulled out some magic, making a double off a rock way out in the wings for his deuce. In the eighth end, Jacobs was forced to draw to the button against two Mouats stones for the 7-5 victory.
Jacobs curled an impressive game, with Brad curling 97%, Marc curling 89%, Brett Curling 78%, and Ben curling 94%.
Jacobs finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. Jacobs defeated Northern Ontario John Epping 5-3 in their opening game, then won 10-4 against Minnesota's Korey Dropkin and 7-4 against Saskatchewan's Mike McEwen. Jacobs won 7-3 against Sweden's Niklas Edin in their final qualifying round match. Jacobs advanced through the quarterfinals with a 7-4 win over Germany's Marc Muskatewitz.
They will take on Scotland's Ross Whyte in Sunday's Final at noon Eastern Time (ET). Whyte defeated Manitoba's Matt Dunstone 7-5 in their semi-final.
Jacobs faced Whyte once this season, back in October at the Hearing Life Tour Challenge, where Jacobs won that game 7-3. Whyte returns to the final for the first time since last season's WFG Masters.
