Tirinzoni Reportedly Set to Take Over as Korea's National Head Coach

The Korea Curling Federation appears to have found its next National Head Coach -- and it's a name the curling world knows well.

According to a report out of Korea, Silvana Tirinzoni is in line for the job. The Swiss skip has reportedly cleared the interview process and been approved by the KCF Board of Directors, leaving sign-off from the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee as the final step.

Tirinzoni retired after Milano Cortina, where she skipped Switzerland to Olympic silver -- the podium finish that had eluded her in 2018 and 2022. She leaves the ice as a four-time world champion (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023), a two-time European champion, a former world junior champion and a seven-time Grand Slam winner, with a run of 36 consecutive wins at the world championship along the way.

She also knows the Korean program well from the other side of the sheet. Switzerland beat Korea in the 2022 world final, and Tirinzoni took silver at the 2025 Worlds in Uijeongbu, before eliminating Eun-ji Gim's Olympic-bound rink in the semifinals of January's Players' Championship.
