Jones into Grand Slam Quarterfinals
Winnipeg's Jennifer Jones (photo: Jeffrey Au) will play Eunji Gim of Korea in Saturday's WFG Masters playoff round at 3:30 pm ET on Sportsnet.
Jones opened the scoring with two in the first end, then added a steal of two against Team Lawes, the new squad skipped by former teammate Kaitlyn Lawes.
Lawes, away on pregnancy leave, has left the reins to Selena Njegovan to manage the team while away. Njegovan herself will soon depart the lineup on her pregnancy leave.
Njegovan got two back in the third end seventh ends, not getting any closer giving Jones the 7-5 win.
Both Jones and Lawes finish at 3-1, each qualifying for the Final 8 playoff round at the event held at Sixten Mile Sports Centre in Oakville, Ontario.
A solid win sends us to the @grandslamcurl playoffs!
