Homan into WFG Masters Final

Ottawa's Rachel Homan will playing Switzerland's Silvana Tirinzoni in Sunday's Final at the Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon. Jones opening scoring with a sing in the first end, after which Homan scored two points and then stole a single point in the third edn to lead 3-1. Jones scored two in the fourth end to even the score at three at the halfway point of the game. In the fifth end, Homan broke open the game scoring four points, then held Jones to a single point in the sixth end. After Homan added one more in the seventh end, Jones conceded giving Homan their 31st win of the season against four losses. Homan improved to 30-26 against Jones in 56 career meetings including a 2-0 record on the season. Tirinzoni defeated Kerri Einarson of Gimil 6-3 in the other semifinal matchup. In the quarterfinals, Tirinzoni defeated Taitha Peterson (St. Paul, MN) 5-3, while Einarson defeated Eun ji Gim (Uijeongbu, KOR) 6-4. Jones won 5-3 over Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) and Homan defeated Isabella Wrana (Sundbyberg, SWE) 8-3. Homan has a career record of 51 wins and 17 losses in this, their 11th appearances at the WFG Masters, winning in 2015, 2013, and 2012. Homan finished 3-1 in the 16-team round-robin qualifying round. In their opening game, Homan defeated Clancy Grandy (Vancouver, BC) 6-1, then won 7-3 against Tirinzoni and 6-5 against Hasselborg. Homan went on to lose 8-6 against Eunjung Kim (Gangneung, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
