Dunstone, with B.J. Neufeld, Colton Lott and Ryan Harnden, scored two points in the second end to take an early 2-1 advantage.
After blanking the third and fourth end, Gushue got their deuce in the fifth end to retake the lead, 3-2.
After teams traded singles in the sixth and seventh ends, Gushue entered the eighth end up one point without hammer.
