Forsythe opens 2026-27 season at NextGen SuperCamp in Edmonton

New Brunswick's Team Mélodie Forsythe got its 2026-27 season underway at Curling Canada's U-25 National NextGen SuperCamp at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, training alongside some of the country's top young teams as part of the national development program.

"We are grateful for this opportunity to learn, train and prepare alongside some of the top young curling teams from across the country," the team posted from Edmonton, adding that its full season schedule will be released soon.

The Fredericton foursome of Forsythe, Rebecca Watson, Carly Smith and Jenna Campbell arrives at the camp coming off a breakthrough season. Forsythe captured her first New Brunswick women's title in December, edging four-time defending champion Andrea Kelly 7-6 in an extra end at the Capital Winter Club, and went on to make the team's Scotties Tournament of Hearts debut in Mississauga in January. The team closed the year at the U-25 NextGen Classic in Edmonton in April, one of the events that feeds into Curling Canada's NextGen funding and coaching support.

Forsythe was also a fixture on the junior scene, skipping New Brunswick at the 2025 Canadian U-20 Championships in Summerside in her final year of eligibility.
