Gushue Book set for November release, supported by cross-country tour
Brad Gushue is trading the hack for the Bookstore Tour this fall, with Gushue: The Making of a Champion currently on pre-order.
The six-time Brier champion's memoir, written with award-winning journalist Stephen Brunt, arrives Nov. 3 from Penguin Canada, with a book tour expected to take the retired skip across Canada through October and November.

The 288-page book traces Gushue's path from a hockey-playing kid in St. John's who discovered curling at 13, through his 2001 world junior title and the 2006 Olympic gold in Turin that made him a household name, to a record run of Brier championships and a final competitive season that ended with his retirement this past spring. Publisher notes promise a candid look at the hard roster decisions along the way, including parting with long-time friends, and Gushue's views on leadership, family and the future of the sport.
Brunt, whose previous books include the bestselling Searching for Bobby Orr and All the Way with Jordin Tootoo, splits his time between Hamilton and Winterhouse Brook, N.L., and serves as artistic director of the Writers at Woody Point festival.
Gushue first announced the project in February ahead of his final Brier. The hardcover lists at $38, with ebook and audiobook editions releasing the same day.
