Varnes rink heads east to KW Fall Classic
Winnipeg's Team Rhonda Varnes is bringing the new season's first road trip to Ontario. The Heather Curling Club rink flies into Toronto Thursday morning and heads to the KW Granite Club for the Hogged Rock KW Fall Classic presented by Runback Brewing, September 4-7, with a Friday 5:00 PM opener against Katelin Langford's Uxbridge-based U25 squad.
Varnes knows the territory. The Manitoba native spent the better part of a decade in Ontario, qualifying for the Ontario Scotties in 2015 during her Ottawa years before moving home to Winnipeg, and has skipped at provincial championships in three different member associations.
Varnes finished 1-2 at last weekend's Asham Icebreaker in Morris, Manitoba.
